Green Transportation Team

Summary: This is the Activist Network home of the Green Transportation Campaign.

The Green Transportation Team is focused on creating a 21st century transportation system in the United States.

This team is a place to learn about and take action on national transportation issues like ending our dependence on oil, expanding public transit, and promoting the development of walkable and bikeable communities where convenient transportation options are a reality for everyone.

Folks are encouraged to join the Transportation Activists, the Green Transportation team's front line of volunteers. Transportation Activists stay up to date through email alerts and monthly calls with the DC Green Transportation team, and are called upon to take action online and at home to improve the way America gets around.

Our Projects

We're working to promote transportation solutions that will break our addiction to oil. This means encouraging transportation choices like more livable, bike-friendly communities, expanded public transit and cleaner, more efficient cars and trucks.

Hello Green Transportation Team, Transportation is not my primary Sierra Club focus for activism (clean renewable energy advocacy in Colorado is) ... but I want to let you all know that I'm professionally interested in clean, highly efficient transit as a partial solution for our conservation and social justice goals. I'm a founder of a Boulder Colorado-based startup, Swift Tram, which will manufacture an electrically powered, automated (driverless) elevated fixed-guideway system, featuring lightweight suspended coaches in two sizes. Our system is the cleanest, safest, most cost-effective, and most energy-efficient rapid mass transit system in the world. We're in design & engineering / seed funding stage, and plan to be able to provide alternatives for communities and regions as early as 2016. I'm delighted to support Sierra Club's anti-sprawl, TOD, and land-use policies for transportation. beckyrep at gmail dot com
