Students Saving Energy

Summary: Students Saving Energy (SSE) is a collaborative network that helps student environmental clubs across the nation launch energy-saving projects in their communities. Through foundational assistance and continual communication, we work with them to educate people and make change, igniting a youth-led activist movement that will fuel our fight for a more sustainable future.

Our earth is in trouble. With factories and cars all over the world emitting tons of carbon into the atmosphere, oceans getting polluted, and energy being obtained from nonrenewable sources, the time is now to do what we can for the next generations. The ultimate way to better the fate of the future is to become sustainable. As the world we live in is slowly being consumed by excessive energy consumption, we must do everything we can to improve our carbon footprint. We must not be discouraged by the obstacles we face as students: school budgets, strict administration, and the lack of authoritative power. We must make things happen from what we can do, and that is to start small-- simple ideas like turning off the lights or reusing water bottles can really go a long way.

The SSE Network is made up of students who want to initiate energy-saving projects in their schools and collaborate with others to help their schools and communities achieve sustainability. With this group effort, we can work together to spread a powerful message about student-led energy activism across the nation. We're reaching out to as many schools as we possibly can to gather participation, and we feel that one of the best ways to do so is through community involvement. Imagine if schools across the nation started implementing similar processes. Imagine the amount of money we would save, the awareness we would raise in our communities, if we all worked together to make our schools more sustainable. Join the Students Saving Energy network today to become part of the growing student-led energy conservation movement! Our goal is to prove that students CAN make a difference to achieve a greener earth. The power lies in the numbers. If all students work together, a lasting impact will be created.
