This year, the USA is at a very crucial crossroads. The Republicans seem to be operating on a philosophy of "The end justifies the means" which literally means to win no matter who or what democratic principle gets stepped on If they get control of the Senate as well as the House, national parks will be part of mining or drilling operations. They turn a deaf ear to scientific findings and rationalize pillaging and plunder of our environment and natural resources to make themselves and their 1% friends a lot of money. After the damage is done, they'll be either forgotten by the apathetic public or living elsewhere. Ancient Rome did not get beat militarily until their society within rotted. Today, the Koch brothers operate plants that are spewing out toxic waste. Yet none of the plants gets shut down. Koch's are big financiers of Republican politics and big polluters. Their Georgia Pacific plants make Brawny paper towels and Dixie Cups. I have a list of most of the products they make and refuse to buy them. If Sierra Club wants a list for distribution, please let me know.
