National Weatherization Day is approaching! The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has designated Friday, October 30th National Weatherization Day, an opportunity to showcase the positive potential of residential weatherization, energy efficiency and the home retrofit industry. Addressing the energy efficiency of buildings will save consumers money and create jobs, while reducing greenhouse gas pollution. The Sierra Club is organizing several National Weatherization Day keynote events and generating distributed house party/service events throughout the country. These events will showcase Sierra Club programs and standout city plans, drive local and state action and urge DOE and Obama administration to continue to champion green economic recovery. Check out the Global Green Economy Group page for more information on events near you! |
