What:
Adam Williams of Brushy Fork Environmental Consulting (Watauga Group member and WWA vice-president) recently brought us up to date on his project to protect Roan Creek by building natural buffer zones, fencing livestock out of creeks and obtain conservation easements. This will reduce soil erosion and nitrogen & phosphorus pollution in upper Northeast TN. Watauga Water Sentinels are calling for volunteers to assist with the project. As a group, we've had great success (and fun!) with creek cleanups. Here's another opportunity to improve and protect Roan Creek, one of the jewels of our watershed and direct tributary to Watauga Lake thru the summer of 2012.
